AI is revolutionizing the way we learn, research, and work right before our eyes. If used properly, it can help you 10x your productivity and income. To remain competitive in this new world, there is simply no option but to learn how to use ChatGPT and other AI tools.
Here are some ChatGPT tips and tricks that you can use to get exceptional results that are highly tailored to your needs and circumstances.
Have a conversation with ChatGPT
The beauty of ChatGPT is that it remembers the whole conversation within each chat. You can ask follow-up questions to dial down into a specific answer. If something is unclear, or there’s something about ChatGPT’s response you think could be improved, simply tell ChatGPT. It will refine the answer according to your requests.
In the example below, I ask ChatGPT to help me create an engaging headline for a landing page for a product called “FlexiFit”, a smart fitness tracker. We ask it to give us 5 examples.
Let’s say we really love example 2. We can tell ChatGPT exactly what we like about the example, and ask it to create more ideas along these lines.
Voila, ChatGPT has refined its output according to our preferences. You can keep refining with follow up questions until you have the exact results you are looking for.
Define your objective
When ChatGPT knows what you want, its advice is much more catered to your needs. Simply tell ChatGPT what you are trying to achieve, and it will tailor its responses accordingly. Be as specific as possible about what your objective is.
The examples below demonstrate how much more effective ChatGPT is when we provide it the context of what we are trying to achieve.

Use examples to guide ChatGPT
When you give ChatGPT examples, it will use the examples as guidance for its own output. So if you have a good idea of what you want the output to look like (maybe you want to imitate a competitor, for example), then include those examples in your prompts.
For example…
Let’s say you want to create a subject line for an email marketing campaign using WGMI Media’s free ChatGPT prompts for writing emails. If you already have examples of subject lines that convert well (or you have seen your competitor use a catchy subject line), then include those examples in addition to your prompt.
Add constraints
You can guide ChatGPT’s output by providing more details about what its answer should or should not be. Constraints help ChatGPT to understand what you are looking for and avoid irrelevant outputs. Here are some examples:
- Specify the length of the response: “Generate a 200-word summary of this news article.”
- Specify the format of the response: “Generate a table of keywords for a blog relating to gardening. Include “Example of article titles” and “target audience” as columns.”
Make ChatGPT ask you questions
A general rule of thumb when using ChatGPT is: the more information it knows about your particular circumstances, the better its response will be. This ChatGPT trick will make ChatGPT ask you any question it needs to tailor its response most effectively. Just add this to the bottom of any prompt:
Ask me any questions you need to know in order to provide a full, comprehensive and highly-tailored response.
For example…
Answer the questions accordingly, and ChatGPT will tailor its response to your needs.
Use your brain
Sorry guys, ChatGPT can’t do everything and its responses won’t always be perfect. Before you start asking for your money back, shift your mindset a little.
ChatGPT is an extremely powerful tool that helps you think of ideas quicker than ever before.
When asking ChatGPT to write content for your website, don’t expect its results to be the finished product. Use its outputs as inspiration and a solid first draft. Use your brain, and add your own style to ChatGPTs outputs to take it to the next level.
The people who get the best results from ChatGPT will be the people who combine it with their knowledge, expertise, data, and creativity.
