What is Lo-Fi Originals (L.O)?

‘Lo-Fi Originals’ is a hand-illustrated collection of 5,555 community-focused NFTs, which are individually animated. The Lo-Fi Originals NFTs are specifically created to be used as PFPs, and they have several unique selling points surrounding their collection. The Lo-Fi Originals project combines the animated walking meta popularized by ‘Invisible Friends’ that the community has grown to love, and it also combines the hand-drawn illustrated art meta popularized by projects such as Doodles and 3Landers. Last but not least, each animated PFP will also be accompanied by a unique soundtrack that can be played by anyone that’s viewing the NFT.

Story / Background

The Lo-Fi Originals team was founded in the streets of Melbourne, Australia, by a group of friends that attended the same high school and are now in their 30s. Each team member has had a successful career in their own light, and now they have come together to create a one-of-a-kind NFT project. 

“L.O wants to combine the NFT / Music / Clothing / Art worlds into one and highlight the unique capacity to develop a brand behind the NFT capabilities.” The team has also mentioned that they are against creating “merch,” and instead, they will be building a premium ethical brand that is manufactured in Australia and sourced to the rest of the world. The Lo-Fi Oringals concept revolves around chill vibes surrounding lo-fi (low fidelity) music which refers to low-quality recordings with audible imperfections such as background noise or performance mistakes which are often recorded with inexpensive equipment. Similarly, Lo-Fi Originals believes in the imperfections that make every individual unique. They are seeking to create a chill community with a family atmosphere where people from all over the world can come to vibe and have a good time. 

Utility

There has been hints in their AMA’s regarding the rarity traits surrounding the NFTs. There will be a direct correlation between the rarity of the art and the rarity of the music so some tracks may be longer or more complex. 

TBD. The specifics regarding the exact utilities that come with owning an L.O have yet to be disclosed. It is expected to be announced sometime in the near future or possibly after the mint phase has concluded.

Roadmap

The L.O Collection Roadmap, is still under development. However, the team just published a sneak peek of their road map, which includes a future album curation using the Lo-Fi Originals brand. In addition to a future music album, they will be launching their own Spotify channel in the near future. The team has also hinted at their intention to open physical stores to sell their  album and their winter clothing line in the future, but their official roadmap with specific details are yet to be released.

The exact details surrounding their musical collaboration with various producers that are working with the L.O team have not yet been publicly disclosed.

They have an active community, and they have been presenting sneak peeks, fan art contests, giveaways, gaming activities, movie nights, and music nights as part of their regular list of community events on their Discord server.  The L.O team is focused on originality, innovation, and growing their community by organic means. L.O has been marketing their clothing line which they say has begun production.
