Gala Games’ annual ‘May Mayhem’ is almost upon us. This year, the prize pot has quadrupled from last year’s to a whopping $4 million. As you probably guessed, the money will be distributed via GALA tokens. In addition, an array of free game NFTs will also be up for grabs.
Gala’s farming game ‘Town Star’ will play host to half of the event’s prize pot, with other TBA titles to share the rest.
With regards to the NFT offering, the Gala Games team will distribute free “Gala Games NFTs with Gala gaming utility” to players holding specific items from certain NFT collections. To determine the NFT recipients, a ’snapshot’ of users’ Ethereum wallet and associated Treasure Chest on the Gala Games platform will take place on Friday, April 29th, at 11:59 PM PT.
The company is giving no clues as to which projects and titles will be involved in this dynamic. However, as all good marketers would do, they have encouraged users to browse secondary markets if they feel some kind of inclination towards specific items.
