Gala Games has launched a new NFT game entitled ‘Battlestar Galactica’.
Formerly teased as ’Project Saturn’, ‘Battlestar Galactica’ is a MMO style game which takes place in the sci-fi universe of its namesake TV series, which aired for four successful seasons in 2003 and 2004.
Made in collaboration between Gala Games, Revolving Games, Universal Games, and Digital Platforms, the game possesses a ‘4x’ strategy dynamic (i.e. explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate). In the game, players must build colonial empires that are grounded in economic, technological and military development.
The time-frame of the game is set 40 years after the ‘First Cylon War’, which took place within the TV series. New iterations of ‘Cylon attacks’ will represent new seasons within the game (presenting new circumstances and challenges which players will need to tackle and overcome).
So far, two ‘Battlestar Galactica Chests’ are live on the Gala Games NFT marketplace. 1,000 ‘Conquest’ chests feature an epic level Jupiter class Battlestar, and 390 ‘Colonial’ chests provide a ‘Colonial Representative’ rank, which can be redeemed in order to receive in-game perks. For now, these are the only Web3 elements of the game which have been advertised – however, there is no reason why we shouldn’t expect more to be added.
