Future Shows Off BAYC #4672 at Rolling Loud Portugal

July 10, 2022

For the first time, Rolling Loud, the world’s largest hip-hop festival has touched down in Europe, with Future bringing NFTs along for the ride. During his performance of ‘Puffin On Zooties’, the award-winning artist highlighted BAYC #4672 on two billboards, one on either side of the stage. The Board Ape was animated, moving with the music and showcasing one of web3’s most prominent brands to a crowd of more than 40,000 people.

In November of 2021, the rapper announced his purchase of BAYC #4672 for 49 ETH, the USD equivalent of $200,000. Just a few hours later, Future unveiled his latest acquisition of Doodles #6764, cementing the artist’s footprint in web3. Following the purchase of his token, Future replaced his Twitter profile picture with his acquired ape, announcing to the platform that he is the latest in a long line of celebrities to join the BAYC ecosystem.

Since 2021, NFTs, more specifically Bored Ape Yacht Club, have grown in popularity within the music industry. Rappers such as Lil Baby, Future, Post alone, and Meek Mill all own tokens from the famed collection, with Snoop Dogg and Eminem, even performing during ApeFest at NFT NYC. Since 2021, Bored Ape’s have continuously been used as a status symbol, with artists now using their tokens as displays while performing.

The BAYC collection has become the market leader. The collection has managed to hold its floor price and there are multiple sales over $100,000 occurring daily during a bear market. Considering that BAYC is the face of NFTs, there is no telling how far the collection will go.
