Etherjump, a 5,500 collection existing on the Ethereum blockchain, has begun to reshape how we think about NFT gaming. Users can create interactive, platform-based levels that are accessible and playable by all. Players can participate through Etherjump’s in-house designer interface, a platform where holders can create, edit and save a world that is playable by all on both OpenSea and the collections platform. The project utilizes innovative blockchain features and chain-to-chain capabilities to build a multidimensional, relatable experience for all participants.
Co-founded by Turnips and Milly, the idea started as a coding project but has grown into a chain-based game. “NFTs have thus far been repetitive in their use cases,” stated Milly. “With Etherjump, we hope to shine a light on the full capabilities of NFT technology, and we can’t wait to share the journey with you all.” Etherjump aims to reshape the way we see web3 gaming considering that we’ve only seen a few projects that have created something new within the space.
The project is built on a custom game engine, meaning that it’s inspired by many of our all-time favorite platformer games like Sonic The Hedgehog and Super Mario. “It requires no coding or game design experience, allowing users to easily create beautiful platforming experiences with the stroke of a mouse.” The game was developed to allow all users to experience the platformer without understanding coding or technology on a deeper level. Besides the ease at which people can play, the game’s developers are always adding new tools, traps, blocks, and enemies, allowing users to get creative and use innovation when creating their ideal world.
Etherjump holds an in-game token, $JUMP. Players can earn $JUMP by using their in-game avatar, and when other participants use their avatars to play your designed course. Levels with better traits such as larger size, scenes, and a more difficult platformer, earn $JUMP at a higher rate. Once players have earnt $JUMP, they can use it to buy additional avatars, upgrade their plots, and more.
After covering all that Etherjump has to offer, we can look forward to the future and see what may be coming. The developers have announced that they will be adding Multiplayer, allowing players to interact with each other, and experience multiple platforms simultaneously no matter where they are in the world. The team will implement a lobby as a way for users to experience the world of Etherjump together. While participating in the lobby, players can add multiple Etherjump levels, allowing users to earn additional $JUMP and create an interactive experience through blockchain technology and web3 gaming.
Since their mint on July 20th, Etherjump has gained a lot of media attention. Since the projects launch, it’s allowed players to experience something new and interactive on a marketplace like OpenSea. Considering what Etherjump has created thus far, many are excited to see where the project heads in the future.
