Crawley Town, the professional English football club which was recently acquired by US crypto and Web3 firm WAGMI United, has recruited a new player as per the demands of NFT and season ticket holders.
On June 15th, the club hosted a vote which asked fans what type of player it should recruit next. Verified WAGMI United NFT holders and almost 1000 season ticket holders interacted with the vote (which took place via a temporary Discord channel), with the outcome being revealed through the signing of 20-year-old midfielder Jayden Davis last week.
With more club-centric decisions expected to be rolled out by the self-dubbed ‘Internet’s Team,’ there is still ample opportunity to get involved, as the 10,000 asset WAGMI United NFT collection still has 1924 remaining NFTs that can be minted (for a price of 0.35 ETH/$600). In addition to voting rights on club decisions, such NFT holders also receive perks such as alternate team jerseys, free Adidas merchandise, and exclusive physical and virtual events.
