Trading card manufacturer Topps is celebrating the 2022 MLB All-Star Week by launching multiple NFT-centric activities based on the event.
To begin with, the company will be launching a 2022 MLB All-Star Game NFT Collection on July 14th at 1 PM EST, where to commemorate the All-Star game being played at the Dodger Stadium in LA, the digital cards will feature California-inspired motifs of waves, stars, retro wave designs, and palm trees. As ever, the NFTs will be centred around MLB stars, with the specific players in question being those who passed the first round of All-Star Game fan voting. They will also range in rarity from Uncommon to Legendary.
On Saturday, July 16th, Topps will then be handing out free 2022 MLB All-Star Game Event NFTs at the company’s booth at the Capital One Play Ball Park.
Across the same weekend, the Topps BUNT MLB Card Trader app will be hosting interactive games which incorporate digital collectibles of MLB players. Those who complete the games successfully will be eligible to receive a special Topps BUNT digital collectibles pack, as well as physical prizes such as Topps BUNT sunglasses, Topps BUNT baseball-themed phone wallets, die-cut enamel pins, and commemorative Topps BUNT Card art posters.
At a TBA date later on in the month, Topps will then host an NFT collection challenge that combines digital collectibles from the 2022 MLB All-Star Game NFT Collection with the results of the 2022 Home Run Derby and Midsummer Classic. More information on such a challenge will be announced later this month.
