Kingship, the BAYC virtual band set up in November 2021 by Universal Music Group’s subsidiary ’10:22PM,’ is launching its own ‘virtual world’ which fans can gain access to via ‘Key Card’ NFTs.
There will be 10,000 Key Card NFTs up for grabs, with each providing holders access to the group’s music, an array of NFT-gated experiences, and other aspects of the rockstar lives of the band’s four Bored Ape and single Mutant Ape members, as well as its Bored Ape manager ‘Nöet All’.
An allowlist period for the NFT mint is currently live, which holders of Doodles, SupDucks, World of Women, The Littles, and AvaStars NFTs can all join – as well as those holding Bored and Mutant Apes. Upon joining the allowlist, Key Card NFTs will be available to mint for a discounted price of 0.19 ETH on May 14th. Come May 16th, the NFT sale will be open to the public, with anyone with a crypto wallet able to mint a Key Card NFT for 0.3 ETH (approximately $570).
With the industry-heavyweight Universal Music at its backing, the illustrious and rather expensive virtual NFT band is set to make unprecedented moves within the Web3 music space, which will be aided by its connections with Grammy award-winning recording artists, songwriters and producers, as well as celebrity animator Jack Lanza and prominent NFT collector Jimmy McNelis (a.k.a. J1mmy.eth).
