After distributing 10,000 Genesis NFTs to those who were the first to create a wallet on the site, WWE’s Moonsault NFT platform is now launching its first ‘official’ NFT collection. The collection is centred around the franchise’s ever-popular ‘Hell in a Cell’ match, which takes place on Sunday 5th June.
The 10,000+ digital assets in question will feature a ‘Flips’ dynamic, whereby they will each be assigned a WWE superstar before the event, and will then be ‘flipped’ into a 20-30 second highlight clip of the wrestler’s antics during the match. Holders will have to hope that their assigned athlete is not on the wrong end of a pin fall.
In wake of all NFTs being ‘flipped,’ they will each be randomly assigned to a 3-asset ‘Case’, which can be minted using the eco-friendly Eluvio blockchain protocol for $30 each (meaning each NFT is essentially priced at $10).
A release date for the collection is not found on the Moonsault site. However, it would be reasonable to assume that minting can be expected to take place in and around June 5th.
The WWE has also stated that its NFT ‘Flips’ and ‘Cases’ concept will be something that will feature in future Moonsault drops, with the $1.5 million valuation of its inaugural Genesis collection adding confidence to customers that such strategy is one of precision and conviction.
