This article is part of a series of WGMI Media content, dedicated to teaching you how to make money online with ChatGPT.
I hear it all the time… “you can’t actually make money with ChatGPT”.
If you don’t believe you can make money with ChatGPT, you will by the end of this article.
Time and time again, ChatGPT is improving people’s productivity. Those that know how to use it properly are doing the work of a full team on their own.
The maths is simple:
- If you can write 3x more articles in one day, you’re going to get more traffic.
- If you can cold-email 4x more potential clients, you’re going to make more sales.
- If you can create 5x more engaging social media posts, you’re going to get more followers.
ChatGPT is a productivity tool. Think of it like a turbocharger in your business car’s engine. You steer and control the vehicle. ChatGPT supercharges your productivity and gets you to your destination faster than you could before.
If you’re still not convinced, here are 5 ways you could make money with ChatGPT. To prove it, I’ll reveal the millionaires who are using ChatGPT. I even hired some of the most successful freelancers on Fiverr and used ChatGPT to produce better results.
1. Start a Newsletter
In January 2023, the WGMI newsletter had 3,000 subscribers. Five months later, we now have 50,000 subscribers. As an AI newsletter, it should come as no surprise that ChatGPT and other AI tools play a big part in our workflow.
Rowan Cheung’s story is similar. He has a daily newsletter that has grown from 0 to 200,000 in 6 months. It is estimated that he makes at least $3,000 from every newsletter, which means his newsletter is raking in more than $1 million every year.
Until recently, Rowan was a one-man team. He is renowned for using ChatGPT to improve his productivity and workflows. Rowan has achieved a superhuman level of productivity through mastering ChatGPT. He is now worth millions.
How can ChatGPT help you start a newsletter?
There are lots of ways you can use ChatGPT to help you start, grow and monetize a newsletter.
Content generation: Use ChatGPT to help you write sections of your newsletter. You can even ask ChatGPT to turn other content (an article, YouTube video or Tweet) into a section in your newsletter.
Prompt: Please summarize this article into a 300-word snippet that is suitable for my newsletter about SEO.
Interview questions: Many newsletters conduct interviews with industry thought leaders and share the insights in their newsletter. You can use ChatGPT to generate thoughtful questions.
Prompt: What are some insightful interview questions for a leading expert in the field of digital marketing that will help my audience build their social media profiles?
2. Write a Blog
Here at WGMI Media (the blog you are reading right now), we grew this blog from 300 monthly visits to 500k monthly visits in just six months with the help of ChatGPT.
Adam Enfroy has built a multi-million dollar blogging empire, and talks prolifically about how he uses ChatGPT to write blogs. He has countless articles that are making $10,000+ per month PER BLOG through affiliate links and sponsorship deals.
How can ChatGPT help you start a blog?
Each blog requires research, a sensible structure, excellent writing, and constant updates. To monetize them you need to constantly speak to sponsors and promote the blog. ChatGPT can help you do all of this and more.
The trick is to NOT use ChatGPT to write whole articles. Instead, use it to help you brainstorm and write first drafts of particular sections. Use ChatGPT’s work as inspiration and it will save you hours every day writing articles.
Brainstorm infinite article ideas: If your blog needs one thing, it is plenty of articles. The more volume, the better chance you have of establishing authority in your topic (and therefore improving your chances of ranking on Google).
Prompt: I write a blog about [BLOG NICHE]. Think of 10 article ideas that I can write about for my blog. The article ideas should be on topics that lots of people are actively searching on Google.
Write captivating introductions: Article introductions are so so important. It’s your one shot to convince your reader that they should take time out of their day to read your article. You have to succinctly highlight the value of the article, and that they will be a better person by the time they have finished reading.
Prompt: I am writing an article about [ARTICLE TOPIC].
I want you to help me brainstorm 3 different angles for the introduction of the article.
Make sure the introductions identify an issue, and how this article is the solution. Make it clear who and how this article will help.

The best thing about ChatGPT is that you can literally see how good it is as soon as you use it. To demonstrate how feasible it is to make money as a copywriter using ChatGPT, let’s put it to the test.
I’m going to take one random Amazon listing, and improve the copy using only ChatGPT.
Beard Care Kit: Average copywriting (WITHOUT CHATGPT)
The internet is plagued with average copywriting. Here’s one example of a product description for a beard care kit on Amazon.
As you can see, the ‘About this item’ description does a good job of highlighting its value as a gift, but completely fails to highlight the benefits of using this kit for people with beards (like beard health and good looks).
Beard Care Kit: Good copywriting (WITH CHATGPT)
Using only a simple prompt and providing details of the product’s key features, ChatGPT is able to generate an impressive first draft of a product description. Take a look for yourself… it completely blows the original description out of the water.
It does a much better job of highlighting the benefits of the product such as better beard health and developing the rugged, masculine charm of a viking.
It’s worth noting that this was the first draft. If you want the points to be shorter, then just ask ChatGPT to shorten it. If you want an additional bullet point about free delivery, then just ask ChatGPT to add it.
It isn’t perfect, but it’s an incredible first draft that anyone can whip up in seconds. Brands and businesses will pay you big money for copy like this.
How can ChatGPT help you sell copywriting services?
ChatGPT is extremely effective at writing compelling copy. Whether you are a business that wants to increase sales, or a marketer that wants to boost productivity (and serve more clients), mastering ChatGPT for copywriting is a no-brainer.
Use copywriting formulas: Most copywriters don’t have a supernatural talent for writing. They use tried and tested, scientifically proven formulas to write their copy. You can incorporate these formulas into your ChatGPT prompts to generate high-impact copy.
Prompt: I am selling [PRODUCT / SERVICE e.g. a checklist for beginner marketers]
I need to write [INSERT e.g. a product description for my website]
Use the PAS formula to write it:
- Step 1 (Problem): Lay out the reader’s problem
- Step 2 (Agitate): Rub salt in the wounds… dig deeper into an issue they are angry or agitated about.
- Step 3 (Solution): Step in with the solution. What I am selling is the solution to their problems and anger... explain how.
4. Become a Social Media Manager
Social Media Managers get paid to manage the social media accounts of big brands and businesses.
A big part of this job is brainstorming and creating content to share on various platforms including Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn etc.
I hired a five-star-rated Social Media Manager on Fiverr to brainstorm content ideas for a fictitious Instagram page about digital nomads. She did an okay job, but ChatGPT can do it quicker, cheaper and (frankly) better.
Hiring a Social Media Manager on Fiverr: The results
I asked a successful Social Media Manager to brainstorm 20 content ideas for my digital nomad Instagram page. She’s made thousands of dollars on Fiverr by providing social media manager services. Here is all the information I gave her:
After spending $10, and waiting for 3 days, here are the results:
Using ChatGPT as a Social Media Manager: The results
I then asked ChatGPT to brainstorm Instagram content ideas using the exact same information that I gave on Fiverr. In the prompt, I asked for specific examples for each content idea.
If you have eyes, you’ll see the examples provided by ChatGPT are infinitely more practical than the results from Fiverr. It gives scaleable content ideas like ‘interviews with digital nomads’ and ‘money management tips’.
The beauty of ChatGPT is that we can dig down into each answer. If there’s one idea that we like, we can ask ChatGPT to dig deeper and provide specific examples that we can use.
Let’s not forget. It takes ChatGPT seconds to think of these ideas, and it can think of them infinitely.

5. Email Marketing
Email marketing is fundamental part of many successful businesses. It’s why companies pay big money to the experts that can write emails for them.
Unless you’re a trained copywriter, ChatGPT can write better emails than you. The truth is, it even writes emails better than 90% of copywriters. It certainly writes emails quicker than 100% of copywriters.
To demonstrate how you can easily make money writing emails with ChatGPT, I hired a successful email writer on Fiverr to write a welcome email. I asked ChatGPT to write the same email and got much better results.
Hiring an email writer on Fiverr: The results
I hired a writer on Fiverr to write a welcome email for the WGMI newsletter. She is a five-star rated seller that has completed hundreds of jobs and made thousands of dollars on Fiverr.
I gave her extensive information about our audience, our goals, and the benefits of subscribing to our newsletter. I also asked her to include our key call to action: “respond to the email to help us avoid going into spam”.
After 3 days of waiting and $20 down, here are the results:
Using ChatGPT as an email writer: The results
Providing the same information as I gave to the Fiverr freelancer (and a few other guidelines), we asked ChatGPT to write the welcome email for us. Here is what it came up with:
In my opinion, the ChatGPT version is better structured and does a much better job of reminding the reader of the benefits of subscribing (which is more likely to make them open and read the next email).
How can ChatGPT help you with email marketing?
Whether you’re writing emails as a service (on platforms like Fiverr), or using ChatGPT to save time and money writing emails for your business, the value of ChatGPT is undeniable.
To see how you can use ChatGPT to make money with email marketing, check out this article on ChatGPT prompts for emails. The prompts in that article will help you save countless hours drafting emails every day.
Closing Thoughts
Time is money. The more things you can do in that time, the more money you will make. It’s as simple as that.
This article provides only 5 examples of how you can use ChatGPT to improve your productivity. The same principles can be applied to almost any industry.
As the AI improves, ChatGPT’s results are only going to get better. Not everyone is using it in their business yet, but you’ll soon have no choice if you want to keep up with your competitors.
There isn’t a better time to learn how to use ChatGPT in your workflow than right now.
