After December saw Tony Hawk retire five of his most famous tricks and turn them into NFTs, the GOAT of skateboarding is continuing his NFT legacy by auctioning off the boards he used while performing such tricks, with each coming with a digital 3D NFT replica courtesy of Autograph.
The auctions for the boards used to sign-off his ‘Gymnast Plant’, ‘Finger Flip’, Magic Dance’, and ‘Varial 540’ tricks will all go live on DraftKing’s marketplace tomorrow, with fiat bids with no minimum to be accepted. Along with a signed board and accompanying NFT replica, the winners of such auctions will also receive a 13,690 points booster to their Tony Hawk NFT ‘Collection Score’.
For those wondering why there is only four auctions taking place, the skateboard and NFT associated with Hawk’s ‘Frontside Cab’ has already been randomly awarded to a preexisting Tony Hawk NFT holder via the ‘Rise & Surprise’ reward program.
Through such initiative, the Tom Brady owned ‘Autograph’ platform is aptly building a strong association with sporting royalty, as it has also developed the NFT collections of Wayne Gretsky, Derek Jeter and Simone Biles.
