As the annual NFL Draft is upon us, the league’s official NFT marketplace has launched a series of digital collectibles to commemorate the career defining event.
The ’2022 NFL Draft’ NFT collection features 52 different collectible NFTs which are each dedicated to the league’s 32 teams. They each sport a traditional French suit playing cards aesthetic, and can be minted for $52 a piece on the marketplace, or alternatively can be won by lucky portion of fans who attend select NFL games.
Part of the collection will also be given to members of this year’s ‘Inner Circle’ club, which includes fans who have been selected to represent each team on Draft night (which takes place tomorrow).
Although launched 6 months ago in November 2021, Sam Rubinroit, the NFL’s director of club business development, has stated that its marketplace is still in a ‘test and learn’ phase. Despite such downplaying, the marketplace has already played host to numerous successful NFT concepts, including various collections based on the NFL play-offs, a ‘virtual commemorative ticket’ NFT concept, and a highly-sought after and inaugural ‘Regular Season Clubs’ collection.
