Summary
The Lunar Project is a collection of 20k NFTs based on the myths and legends behind the lunar calendar. There are a total of 12 lunar signs and 12 constellations in addition to 5 different elements that make up each trait.
The main artist behind ‘The Lunar Project’ is Zigor, a world-renowned 3D artist who has worked alongside brands such as Nifty Gateway, Nickelodeon, Wired, and Prada to name a few.

The Lunar Project has not yet released a public roadmap, but the team has been innovative when it comes to partnerships and providing exclusive utility for holders. The currently available utility is shared below.
Utility
The Lunar Project has secured three different partnerships so far with various projects. Below is a list of the official partnerships for The Lunar Project and some additional utilities that will be available depending on the traits of each NFT. Additional utility and future partnerships will be getting added as they become available.
CRYPTOPUNK TRAIT
All holders of the CryptoPunk trait will acquire a free, non-exclusive license/permission to use and market a CryptoPunk with full authority. The Lunar Project team has secured the use of 59 CryptoPunks NFTs with licensing rights to a Punk.
KARAFURU TRAIT
All holders of the Karafuru trait will be able to claim items of Karafuru merchandise! There will be 150 Lunar NFTs with the ‘Furu’ trait.
AUSTRALIAN OPEN TRAIT
50 holders with the AO trait will be able to claim exclusive merchandise, premium experiences, clinics with tennis legends, and NFT perks.
Team
The OpenDAO team consists of over 70 people globally, with experience ranging from decentralized finance, tokenomics, fine art, software engineering, marketing, and law. We have developed products such as 721Starter (www.721.com), a launchpad for NFTs (non-fungible tokens), as well as SOSMarket, a prediction market currently in closed beta. Lunar is one of two products by OpenDAO launching in the near future.
- The main contributors and founders behind Lunar are Mick, Dyno and 9x9x9 (HGE.sol). All three are well connected with vast experience in the NFT space.
- Mick has worked as a tokenomics expert in a European crypto firm, with a history advising many NFT projects as well as leading 721Starter for The OpenDAO.
- A fund manager by trade, Dyno has been a crypto veteran since 2016 and is a co-founder of The OpenDAO and 721Starter. In his own words “One of my lifetime goals is to onboard 1 billion people into the Web3 space before I die.”
- 9x9x9, or HGE.SOL, is an immensely respected name within the Web3 space and the creator of The OpenDAO, with a long history and vast connections in crypto.
- Openthefridge, Kuromi, and onogiri, collectively manage project partnerships, community, and marketing. Across these three comes experience from a breadth of well-established NFT projects.
- China-based marketing and partnerships are headed by MarkSOS and Robby. In addition to this, their advisor Mightynev has worked alongside projects such as the Habibiz and Celephais.

Analysis
Bullish case
The Lunar Project has a competent team with an incredible network and experience. The collaborations and partnerships that the team has assembled have allowed The Lunar Project to become one of the most hyped projects in the NFT space at this time. The Lunar Project is working closely with OpenDAO which is a major cryptocurrency company with more than 400k token holders and over 5.5 billion dollars traded. It is refreshing to see that The Lunar Project is trying to create new and unique ways of rewarding its holders through partnerships and varying utilities.
Reservations
The Lunar Project has yet to release its mint price which will be a critical factor when deciding the potential returns on this investment. The cheaper the mint price will be the more potential this project will have for growth. In the current bear market, a 20k supply is difficult to sell out unless it’s practically free. It will be interesting to see the mint price The Lunar Project decides on and how it will in turn affect the market sentiment closer to the mint date.
