Italian luxury fashion label Prada is launching a series of 100 NFTs with Damien Hirst’s son, to go alongside its ‘Cassius Hirst Timecapsule’ apparel drop.
Collectors will not be able to mint the 100 Cassius Hirst Timecapsule NFT collection. Instead, they will instead be airdropped to those who purchase 1 of the 100 physical pieces from its namesake fashion line.
More specifically, the physical ‘Cassius Hirst Timecapsule’ line is centred around unisex, button-down shirts (which come in black or white), with the corresponding NFT essentially being a GIF of the physical piece (although it will also feature the same serial number which is associated to its physical counterpart).
When announcing the initiative, Prada also stated that purchasers of its previous ‘Timecapsule’ drops (which date back to 2019) will also be airdropped an NFT of some sort, some time in the future.
This is not the first NFT foray of Prada, as the fashion retailer has previously teamed-up with Adidas to launch a community-driven collection earlier this year. Cassius’ father, Damien Hirst, has also dipped his toes into the NFT space – having launched a collection entitled ‘The Currency’ back in July 2021, which currently has a floor price of 5.8 ETH.
