Multi-era music icon Pharrell Williams is inaugurating himself into Web3 through the launch of a new NFT platform called the ‘Gallery of Digital Assets’ (also to be known as GODA). Joining Williams in the venture is NYC-based artist Nina Chanel Abney, investor-come-entrepreneur Shaun Neff, and an array of other prominent figures from the art and blockchain spaces.
With its first drop set to take place early this summer, GODA aims to merge the world of NFTs and art in a way which is organic and coherent with the pre-curated brands of the artists involved. In doing so, and with a focus on respecting the world-class nature of artists’ work, the platform says it will “provide the ultimate user experience by allowing access to the best drops from a curated collection of renowned figures from the traditional art world as well as up-and-coming artists”.
The first drop on the GODA NFT platform will be the launch of ‘Mint Pass’ NFTs (date TBA). As their name suggests, the Mint Pass NFTs will serve as access keys to future drops through an NFT-gating mechanism. To acquire a Mint Pass, you must enter into a Raffle, have at least 0.1 ETH in your crypto-wallet (which suggests their price), and follow the platform on Twitter.
Soon after the ‘Mint Pass’ drop, Nina Chanel Abney will then launch the platform’s inaugural art-centric collection.
