Verified Twitter user ‘Serpent’, who is aptly the founder of Discord & crypto threat mitigation system Sentinel, has publicly called out two community members for their connection with a scam worth over 200 ETH.
Hi @PaymentBypass21 / Michelangelo / desanta.eth, is there a particular reason why your wallet is directly connected with the wallet that scammed 200+ ETH from a fake PXN collection? pic.twitter.com/oALRXS66I7

Users ‘PaymentBypass21’ and ‘Michelangelo’ (a.k.a. desanta.eth) are the parties under scrutiny (who’ve arguably revealed their guilt by deactivating their social media profiles). The scam in question involved the set-up of ‘Phantom Network projectPXN,’ which is a knock-off of the widely spoken-of ‘Phantom Network,’ which dropped its ‘Ghost Division’ NFT collection yesterday.
According to an OpenSea screenshot, the fake project’s NFTs had generated a floor price of 1.3 ETH, and a trade volume of over 153 ETH.
Included in their public-outing, Serpent included etherscan data which shows desanta.eth funding the project, and also included screenshots of real-time replies from community members who claim to know desanta.eth because of their involvement in the sneaker reselling scene across Europe.
Community members also claim that they can provide Serpent with desanta.eth’s address and Discord name which could be used as a tactic to force the pair to return the money (however who’s to say more forceful action won’t take place if nothing else is done to remedy the situation). Alternatively, and rather bleakly, the incident may merely be forgotten about in the weeks to come, especially given the likelihood of future scams diluting its importance and relevancy.
