To mark the next stage of its metaverse expansion, social media conglomerate Meta is launching an online digital outfit store for metaverse avatars.
The first installment of digital apparel at Meta’s store will feature designer brands such as Balenciaga, Prada, and Thom Browne, with a whole array of items, such as suits, hoodies, and motocross outfits expected to be on offer.
As per the words of the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, such digital goods will be “an important way to express yourself in the metaverse and a big driver of the creative economy”.
For now, wider information on how users will access the store is still yet to be announced, however, what is known is that it’ll only be available for customers in the U.S., Canada, Thailand, and Mexico to begin with. Prices of the digital clothing items are also yet to be released, however, Meta has stated that there will always be a select few items that will remain eternally free for Meta avatars to acquire and wear.
