Amid its summer transfer spending spree, FC Barcelona is taking its first dive into Web3 through the launch of an NFT.
Dubbed ‘In A Way, Immortal,’ the digital asset is an audiovisual art piece centered around club legend Johan Cruyff’s unforgettable ‘flying’ volley against Atlético Madrid in 1973. It was created in partnership with the ‘World of Johan Cruyff,’ as well as local ‘digital Super-studio’ BCN Visuals.
Along with the 1/1 animated art piece, the winner will receive an additional four NFTs that each includes a different still image from the animated version. They will also be gifted several VIP Club-based benefits and experiences and named a Barca Digital Ambassador.
The one-of-a-kind asset will be sold on July 29th via a hybrid online-live auction hosted by Sotheby’s.
