With tools like Wix and EditorX, It’s never been easier to make a decent-looking website. But taking the website to the next level with professional design assets, graphics, customized icons, and a killer logo required help from a (costly) professional graphic designer. Until now.
Now you can use generative AI tools like Midjourney to create beautiful designs that you can include in your website. Other AI tools, like ChatGPT, can help you brainstorm the layout of the website and write high-impact copy that sells.
This article will show you exactly how to make a website look professional with AI. I’ll be using AI tools to create a website for a professional copywriting business, but you can use the same tools and tricks for any industry and niche.
Use Midjourney for inspiration
(This article assumes you have a basic knowledge of Midjourney. If you’ve never used it before, then give this video a quick watch. It’s super easy to use, and definitely an incredible skill to have.)
If you’re looking for inspiration, Midjourney is a great place to start. Type in a simple prompt to generate some home page designs. If you have an idea of what you want it to look like, then include it in the prompt.
Now we have an incredible starting point for our website home page. You could give this to a website designer, or use it as a starting point to build the website yourself with easy-to-use tools like Wix and EditorX.
But here’s how you can make it even better.
Create a centerpiece graphic with Midjourney
You can use Midjourney to create highly professional images that would usually cost hundreds of dollars to commission from an artist. These high-quality images can then be used as the centerpiece of your website.
From Midjourney’s first example above, I love the imagery of a pen exploding. So I gave Midjourney a new prompt to generate more art using this imagery.
You can then take the browser link for this image, and use it in another prompt. Here are the results when we combine this image with other prompts.
Make a logo with Midjourney
Every professional website needs a professional logo, and Midjourney can whip one up for you in minutes.
You can determine the style of the logo by giving Midjourney the appropriate prompts. I am looking for a minimalistic logo of a pen for the copywriting business website.
Prompt: Imagine/ Cector graphic logo of pencil, black and white, simple, minimal, by Rob Janoff –no realistic photo details
Create a sitemap with ChatGPTA sitemap is a crucial aspect of website design as it helps to structure and organize the content on a website in a clear and logical manner. A website’s layout and pages make it easier for users to navigate the website, and help the site’s visibility for search ranking.
Use ChatGPT to help you brainstorm an effective sitemap for your website.
Write persuasive website copy with AI tools
To make sure your website converts visitors into customers, you’ll need some effective sales copy. The design and language used on a website are the first impressions that a potential customer has, so make them count!
Use ChatGPT and other copywriting tools like Copy.ai and Writesonic to write persuasive copy that highlights the unique benefits of your product or service.
Put it all together in Wix
Using AI tools, we’ve quickly created:
- Landing page layout inspiration from Midjourney
- A beautiful centerpiece graphic using Midjourney
- A logo using Midjourney
- A sitemap using ChatGPT
- Website content using ChatGPT and/or other AI tools
Now, we just need to put all of these assets together using Wix or EditorX. They are easy-to-use platforms that allow you to create a website using drag-and-drop tools.
These platforms will require you to choose a brand color palette and fonts. If you are struggling to choose, then you can always ask ChatGPT for its opinion.
Thinking of imaginative graphic ideas and putting it all together on a website still requires creativity and an eye for design. For those reasons, AI is not quite yet a true replacement for expert website designers.
However, the tools are getting better every day. Creating the graphics featured in this article would usually cost hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars from an artist. Now, anyone can create them with a little bit of imagination.
