FIFA Appoints Algorand to Spearhead its Web3 Journey

Through the partnership, Algorand will serve as FIFA’s official blockchain platform, where it will provide a blockchain-supported wallet solution, as well as assistance in developing the organisation’s digital asset strategy.

Worldwide football institution FIFA has announced its partnership with eco—friendly blockchain innovator Algorand. Through the partnership, Algorand will serve as FIFA’s official blockchain platform, where it will provide a blockchain-supported wallet solution, as well as assistance in developing the organisation’s digital asset strategy.

In return for its services, Algorand will be appointed as sponsorship partners in upcoming FIFA events. This includes the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, where it will serve as a ‘Regional Supporter in North America and Europe,’ and the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023, where it will be the official sponsor.

In diving into the blockchain via Algorand, FIFA joins over 2,000 other global organisations, governments, and digital-native DeFi applications which have appointed the climate-conscious company as its Web3 solution. By doing so, they simultaneously become part of its mission to accelerate environmentally responsible growth, inclusiveness, transparency, and innovation within the ever-emerging space.
