After the success of BlockBar NFT has proven compatibility between NFTs and premium wine and spirits, a new kid on the block – dubbed ‘Farandole’ – is entering the NFT-meets-alcohol realm.
With its soft launch currently live, and its full launch penned-in for June 30th, Farandole will serve as a global marketplace which allows users to trade digital and physical wine and spirits using the technology of Avalanche blockchain. The filters featured on the marketplace include Year, Appelation, Provider, Collection, Brand, Grape Variety, and Colour.
In leveraging the tech, owners of bottles of wines and spirits purchased on the platform will receive an NFT as a proof of ownership, while the bottle will remain in an optimally set-up storage warehouse. The bottle can then be traded vicariously through the NFT on the platform.
In doing so, the platform ensures royalties go to producers, brands, and sellers on each transaction, while also reducing the issues of authenticity which currently exist within the wine and spirit industry.
It is also thought that Farandole will launch a Showroom in the metaverse as well, which may be linked to the platform’s ‘membership club’ – which will provide members with special perks and experiences.
