Blockchain.com to Issue Free ‘.blockchain’ Domain Names to its Users

June 13, 2022

Bitcoin exchange Blockchain.com is working alongside Unstoppable Domains to give its users free ‘.blockchain’ domains.

Through this initiative, Blockchain.com’s millions of users will be able to swap-out the random compilation of characters which make up their wallet address for a more personal, human name – whatever that may be.

Blockchain.com has been working with Unstoppable Domains since March, with the duo’s first initiative being the issuing of two million domain names which fall under the ‘.crypto,’ ‘.wallets,’ and ‘.nfts’ suffixes. The issuing of ‘.blockchain’ names is thought, by the firms, to be the first of the branded sort.

As with other domain names, they will be mintable (on the Polygon Network), and will be able to be traded and resold.

As its name suggests, Unstoppable will not stop at just Blockchain.com for issuing free domain names, as it seeks to work with other brands to issue more free domain names to the Web3 community. Here, the scope for different branded domain name suffixes will be endless.
