I feel like I am living in a weird alternate timeline. AI is getting crazier. Every week brings another disruptive and revolutionary breakthrough, and now the foundations of the music industry are being shaken to their core.
Recently, a song featuring the voices of Drake and the Weeknd went viral, but neither artist was involved in the creation of that hit song. A producer used an AI tool to clone their voices, and the resemblance is uncanny.
What this means for the future of music is unclear. We can be sure of only two things. The first is that there will be legal battles. The second is that there will be plenty of unexpected bangers featuring AI voice clones of famous artists.
